His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, reviewed the second-season plan for the Dammam Global City project during his reception today, Tuesday, at his office at the Governorate’s headquarters, of His Excellency Eng. Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Jubair, Mayor of the Eastern Province.
His Royal Highness emphasized the importance of leveraging the tourism, entertainment, and investment potential of the Eastern Province and enhancing its attractiveness to investors from within and outside the Kingdom. He highlighted the region’s infrastructure, services, and supporting assets that provide a strong foundation for leading projects and investments, contributing to stimulating tourism and economic activity and creating employment opportunities for Saudi men and women.
Al-Jubair briefed His Royal Highness on the project’s progress and the success achieved during its first season, which attracted more than 3 million visitors of different nationalities and age groups over five months. He explained that the second season represents a comprehensive development phase, featuring significant expansions to facilities, international pavilions, investment and entertainment areas, as well as the addition of new countries and destinations. The first phase will also feature redesigned international pavilion facades based on a modern architectural vision, with a target of welcoming approximately 5.2 million visitors.
The second-season plan also includes an interactive dancing fountain, expanded live performances and cultural and entertainment events, and several new destinations, most notably the Asian Village and the Future District, which will offer advanced experiences in artificial intelligence, robotics, and interactive technologies. The plan also includes a Dinosaur City and new entertainment areas designed to appeal to different age groups. In addition, the project is expected to create between 1,000 and 1,900 direct and indirect job opportunities, support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and empower national talent, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Al-Jubair affirmed that Dammam Global City represents a successful model of partnership between the Eastern Province Municipality and the private sector in investing in municipal assets. He explained that the expansions and new experiences planned for the second season will provide a comprehensive global destination that brings together culture, entertainment, innovation, and investment in one place. The project also supports the Municipality’s efforts to develop municipal assets and maximize their value, contributing to quality of life and strengthening economic and tourism activity in the region.
