His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, received at the Emirate headquarters, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, staff members of the Eastern Province Development Authority. The meeting included a review of the Authority’s key achievements during the past period.
HRH the Governor highlighted the support and attention given by the wise leadership, may Allah protect them, to development and advancement, enabling development authorities to fulfill their roles in comprehensive planning and development and to provide regions with the services and public facilities they need. His Highness emphasized that residents’ views and suggestions are an important source for development and advancement efforts, reflecting the wise leadership’s approach to enhancing community participation and benefiting from their views and recommendations. He also stressed the importance of maintaining continuous communication with the community and taking into account its feedback and aspirations to support development efforts and enhance quality of life.
Dr. Talal Al-Maghlouth, Acting CEO of the Eastern Province Development Authority, explained that, under the guidance of HRH the Governor and the follow-up of HRH the Deputy Governor, and through genuine partnerships with various government and private-sector entities, the Authority seeks to position the region’s cities among the world’s leading cities and make them exemplary models of sustainable development. He noted that successful cities today are not simply those that expand physically, but those that grow through the minds of their people, invest in their present and future, place human well-being at the heart of their work, preserve the environment, and maximize resources, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Al-Maghlouth added that the Eastern Province Development Authority was established to serve as an effective driver in shaping the region’s future and defining its urban and development landscape. This comes at a time when cities around the world are competing to enhance quality of life, attract investment and talent, and create a balanced urban environment that considers both people and the environment while keeping pace with modern needs and evolving lifestyles.
