
His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, received today, Thursday, at his office at the Emirate headquarters, Mr. Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Faraj, Chairman of the Eastern Chamber, along with the heads of sectoral committees and business councils for the 20th term (2026–2029). His Highness reviewed their activities, future plans, and the strategic plan aimed at strengthening the role of the business sector.
HRH the Governor emphasized the important role played by the Eastern Chamber in representing the business sector and strengthening public-private partnerships. He highlighted the importance of activating the role of sectoral committees and ensuring that they serve as effective platforms for conveying the views of investors and entrepreneurs, and for proposing initiatives and recommendations that contribute to developing the business environment and enhancing the competitiveness of economic sectors. This, he noted, would positively support economic development in the region and advance the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Al-Faraj presented to HRH the Governor an overview of the formation of the sectoral committees and business councils for the current term, as well as mechanisms to empower them to perform their roles in support of economic development in the Eastern Province, enhance the investment environment, and achieve the objectives of the strategic plan. He explained that completing the formation of the sectoral committees and business councils marks the beginning of a new phase of institutional work based on greater integration with government and private-sector entities, a unified team approach to addressing challenges, and the launch of impactful initiatives that contribute to improving the business environment and enhancing the competitiveness of economic sectors.
