His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Eastern Province Governor, received in his office at the Emirate's headquarters today, Monday, the Director of Narcotics Control in the Eastern Province, Brigadier General Faisal bin Maq'ad Al-Otaibi, accompanied by several senior officials from the directorate. During the meeting, His Royal Highness reviewed the directorate's efforts and key achievements during the first half of 2026.
The Eastern Province Governor commended the qualitative achievements made by security authorities in combating narcotics and their execution of proactive operations that foiled numerous attempts to smuggle and distribute illicit drugs. His Royal Highness emphasized that the immense support provided by the wise leadership—may God protect them—to the security sector, along with the provision of all necessary capabilities, enabled security forces to continuously achieve high efficiency in protecting society and maintaining national security.
Al-Sammari and Al-Otaibi presented a report outlining the directorate's major milestones in H1 2026. The presentation highlighted field results in apprehending drug smugglers and dealers, dismantling criminal networks, and executing awareness programs and community partnerships aimed at raising prevention awareness. It also covered the directorate's participation in the International Day Against Drug Abuse and the GCC Drug Prevention and Control Week.
Al-Otaibi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Eastern Province Governor for his continuous support, interest, and guidance, affirming that this backing serves as an incentive to maintain high operational efficiency to safeguard the community.
