His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, received in his office at the Emirate's headquarters today, Monday, the Director of Narcotics Control in the Eastern Province, Brigadier General Faisal bin Maq'ad Al-Otaibi, accompanied by several senior officials from the directorate. During the meeting, His Royal Highness reviewed the directorate's key efforts and achievements during the first half of 2026.
The Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province emphasized that the continuous support and attention bestowed upon the security sector by the wise leadership—may God protect them—has enhanced the efficiency and readiness of the security ecosystem in countering drug-related crimes. He praised the qualitative achievements and ongoing security efforts that have helped foil numerous attempts to smuggle and distribute narcotics, dismantle criminal networks, and safeguard the security and safety of society.
His Royal Highness reviewed a presentation delivered by Al-Otaibi outlining the directorate’s major milestones in H1 2026. The presentation highlighted field results in apprehending drug smugglers and dealers, dismantling criminal networks, and executing awareness programs and community partnerships aimed at raising prevention awareness. It also covered the directorate’s participation in the International Day Against Drug Abuse and the GCC Drug Prevention Week, alongside accompanying awareness exhibitions.
Al-Otaibi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province for his guidance and follow-up, affirming that this support serves as an incentive to continuously enhance security and preventive efforts to protect the community.
