He added that the association conducted nearly 1,000 activities, therapeutic, and rehabilitation sessions, in addition to 10 rehabilitative and recreational trips that benefited 194 individuals. He pointed out that toxicology lab results revealed that 485 out of 486 samples tested negative, representing a success rate of approximately 99.8%.
Al-Jabr noted the utilization and rehabilitation of a former government building to transform it into a model rehabilitation center adhering to the highest professional standards. Upon the project's completion, its capacity will increase from 40 to 80 beds, and it will employ over 70 staff members, the majority of whom are Saudi nationals. He further revealed that the association is preparing to host the 3rd Scientific Forum under the patronage of HRH the Governor of the Eastern Province on Wednesday and Thursday, September 30 and October 1, 2026, featuring over 30 international experts from around the world presenting more than 20 scientific lectures and 4 specialized workshops.
Al-Jabr also explained that the design and licensing for the "Taafi Investment Project" in Al-Hussam neighborhood, Dammam, have been finalized. The project will house the association’s new headquarters, along with several commercial showrooms and investment offices, providing a sustainable financial resource to cover a portion of the association's operational expenses and supporting its expansion in serving beneficiaries.
Al-Jabr expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to HRH the Governor of the Eastern Province and HRH the Deputy Governor for their continuous support, which enables the association to fulfill its mission of serving its beneficiaries.
His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, received at the Emirate's headquarters the staff of the "Taafi" Charitable Association for Recovering Drug and Psychotropic Substance Addicts to review their key achievements over the past period. His Royal Highness also toured the exhibition organized by the General Directorate of Narcotics Control in the Eastern Province on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and listened to a presentation about the exhibition delivered by the Director of Narcotics Control in the region, Brigadier General Faisal Al-Otaibi.
HRH the Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province praised the association's efforts and the unique, diverse services it provides to individuals recovering from the scourge of drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as their families. He stressed the importance of expanding the association's operations and initiatives to achieve relapse prevention goals, alongside strengthening awareness efforts to curb drug addiction.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, Abdulsalam Al-Jabr, explained that "Taafi" continued to develop its rehabilitation services this year in line with best professional practices, updating psychological and social assessment mechanisms and introducing specialized subfields. He affirmed that the association now possesses a comprehensive assessment framework for beneficiaries, which has contributed to higher commitment to treatment programs and enhanced opportunities for recovery and societal reintegration.
