Program Overview

The National Industrial Development and Logistics Program is one of the Saudi Vision 2030 Vision Realization Programs. It aims to develop the industrial, energy, mining, and logistics sectors, enhance infrastructure efficiency, strengthen the competitiveness of products and services, stimulate investment, and support private sector participation.

The Program’s Relevance to the Eastern Province

The Eastern Province is a major center for industry, energy, and logistics in the Kingdom. Its economic strengths, ports, airports, and industrial cities support its role in achieving the program’s objectives.

Related Initiatives and Activities

Related activities include developing transportation infrastructure, airports, ports, and logistics zones; enhancing the industrial environment; developing factories; localizing technologies; and supporting industrial investments.

Key Achievements

• The Eastern Province witnessed the launch of the master plan for King Fahd International Airport and the opening of a package of development projects valued at SAR 1.6 billion.
• The multi-story factories project was also launched, along with the establishment of 84 ready-built factories in the industrial cities of Dammam.
• In the logistics sector, the foundation stone was laid for an integrated logistics zone, and the expansion of the second container terminal at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam was inaugurated, with private sector investments exceeding SAR 2.8 billion.
• The region also witnessed the inauguration of the marine bridge connecting Safwa and Ras Tanura, the launch of the first locally assembled JAC gas turbine, and the inauguration of a water desalination membrane technologies factory in Dammam.
